Arguably one of the best squads Newcastle United F.C. every produced with the likes of David Ginola, Les Ferdinand and the January signing of Faustino Asprilla leading the line. During this season, Newcastle played great football and scored a bunch of goals to help them attain a 10-point lead at Christmas which went on to stretch to 12 points thereafter. Unfortunately, the season came crashing down and saw them finish 2nd to Manchester United who lead a charge in the form of league legend, Eric Cantona.
